You are going to work in the AiDeal product team. AiDeal is one of our products, which presents discount offers to e-commerce site visitors at the most appropriate timing, personalized by technology to detect the visitor’s growing desire to buy. We do this by analyzing browser behavior data (mouse-moving, scrolling, clicks, gestures) in real-time.

Our technologies are based on AWS, Vue.js, GraphQL, Node.js, Python, Redis, MySQL and MongoDB and very open-minded to accepting new technologies. We are everyday tackling huge challenges like analyzing, machine-learning and visualizing online traffics of more than 1 billion page views per month.

If you are not currently located in Japan yet, we will help you relocate by sponsoring your VISA. As you are going to work in an international team, no Japanese skills are required because English is the most important language for our daily work.

Our Response to COVID-19

As our target market is e-commerce, the COVID-19 crisis has actually led to a boost in demand for our solution. Our team has been working from home since mid-February in 2020. Even before the crisis, our engineers were already working remotely with Appier members in Taiwan, so making the transition to working from home went smoothly.

About the Role

As a Software Engineer, DevOps, you will be involved in ensuring continuous integration and delivery in order to provide high quality services. You will focus on the technologies for the infra management, service operation, monitoring, provisioning and deployment onto instances with high scalability requirement. You will work at Appier Japan in Tokyo, Japan and co-work with teammates in Taipei, Taiwan.

Task of the Role

Create and maintain CI/CD workflow
Design, develop and execute automation scripts
Ease software development and deployment of our product
Develop and maintain monitoring and alert system
Conduct infra, middleware and package upgrades
Stay on-call for critical alerts in rotation

About You

[Essential]

BS/BA degree in Computer Science or related field with min. 2 years of relevant experience
Ability to build application and services on Linux-based systems
Experience in container and orchestration technologies (Docker, Kubernetes, etc.)
Experience in provisioning and deployment technologies (Terraform, Ansible, etc.)
Experience in CircleCI, TravisCI, Jenkins or other CI/CD integration tools
Experience in AWS, GCP, Azure or other cloud computing services
Experience in automated testing tools
Familiarity with Git
Team player and able to work independently
Proactive, great interpersonal and problem-solving skills

[Nice to Have]

Experience in writing TypeScript, Python, Ruby or other scripting languages
Experience in designing and architecting large scale distributed system
Experience in using SQL database (MySQL, PostgreSQL, etc.)
Experience in using NoSQL database (MongoDB, Redis, etc.)
Experience in administrating infra
Basic knowledge of machine learning
