Overview

We are looking for an experienced Engineering Manager to join  GLOBIS Digital Platform. Your main focus is to realize the growth of GLOBIS 学び放題 and GLOBIS Unlimited to make them the No. 1 business learning service in the world.

Core Responsibilities

We are looking for an Engineering Manager to manage a team of engineers.
Your main responsibility as an Engineering Manager is to create an organizational structure that is adaptable to change and has high development capabilities.

Specifically, you will be responsible for the following tasks:

• Building a team in line with the business strategy (hiring, assigning, and training engineers, etc.)
• Maximizing team performance
• Supporting the growth and career development of engineers (goal setting, evaluation, feedback, etc.)
• Fostering a team culture
• Continuous improvement of the development process
• Facilitate resolution of technical issues that arise in the team
• Planning and promotion of long-term development and organizational strategies

The products you'll be responsible for include but are not limited to:

• GLOBIS Unlimited 2C/2B business Products for students
  
• GLOBIS Unlimited 2B business Products for administrators
• Common infrastructure products (settlement, marketing, data analysis, etc.)

Development Environment:

• Language/Framework: Ruby, Rails, React, TypeScript, GraphQL
• Testing: RSpec
• Infrastructure: AWS, GCP, Docker
• CI: CircleCI
• Communication: Slack, Zoom
• Documentation: Notion, G suite
  
  

Qualifications - Required:

• Experience in development team management (1-on-1, evaluation, hiring, etc.)
• Experience in product development (Web/App), as well as design, implementation, and operation
• Experience in scrum-style development
• Ability to communicate proactively with team members
• JLPT N3 or equivalent
• Strong interest in GLOBIS business and the GLOBIS Way

Qualifications - Preferred:

• In-depth knowledge of specific areas of technology (server-side, front-end, apps, payments, etc.)
• Knowledge and experience in the education industry and online learning for working professionals
• Experience managing an entire development organization as well as a team
• Experience in team building in a remote environment
• Knowledge and experience in coaching
• Experience in offshore development
• English communication skills

Screening Process:

• CV Submission and screening 
• 1st interview with manager/leader
• 2nd interview with HR and Director 
• 3rd interview with Managing Director of GLOBIS Digital Platform 
• 4th interview with Managing Director of HR (there may not be the 4th interview)
