About the job

As a Middle or Senior Backend Engineer, you will be responsible for the development of our backend aggregation platform which is centralizing data from 100+ SaaS applications. Our current tech stack for backend development is Typescript (Nest.js), MySQL, DynamoDB, SQS, ElasticSearch, Lambda, Datadog.

This is a position in Money Forward i Inc., Money Forward's group company that focuses on new businesses and products.

We are developing a new SaaS Management Platform. β version was launched in Aug 2021. With this product, we are targeting not only the domestic markets but also global markets.

Responsibility

Evolve our platform through solid backend architecture and best practices
Create reusable, effective, and scalable TypeScript code
Operation of an application on a production environment (monitoring, investigation)

Requirement

Deep knowledge in computer science or related field
3+ years of professional experience in backend development
Experience with Node.js(TypeScript) or any generalized programming languages such as Java, C#, Golang...etc.
Experience in designing tables/working with relational databases such as MySQL
Familiarity with Docker
Good problem-solving skills.
Excellent verbal communication skills.
Good interpersonal skills.

Nice to have

Develop production-quality applications in a Node.js framework such as NestJS
Experiences in building web crawler frameworks (Puppeteer, Selenium...etc)
Experiences with NoSQL database (e.g. DynamoDB) and ElasticSearch
Experiences in running and operating applications on cloud infrastructure, preferably on AWS
Experiences in designing/implementing/operating microservice/serverless architecture

Language Requirement

English: Fluent, both verbal and written. (CEFR B2 or equivalent)
Japanese: NOT required

Work environment of this team is fully in English. Also, the company overall is planning to be a bilingual environment by the end of 2022.

Salary Range

Min 5,700,000 - Max 9,000,000 Japanese yen / year (Gross)

Location: Tokyo or Kyoto, Japan
Remote work is available upto four days per week. (As of Oct 2021)

Two days off per week (Saturday and Sunday)
Japanese national holidays (16 national holidays in 2021)

Remote Work
Money Forward requires 1 in-office day per week (so up to 4 days per week of remote work).
Work style
In terms of work hours, Money Forward offers a full flex time schedule. There may be core time in certain circumstances (e.g., new grad positions), but for mid-level or above, there is no core time for engineering or product teams. In that case, your work hours will be completely flexible.
